Fens LeAP LEADER+ Cooperation Projects

A requirement of all LEADER+ programmes is that they organise cooperation projects with other LEADER+ programmes in their own country and also a transnational cooperation project.

National Cooperation Projects:

Fens LeAP LEADER+ are currently working on two national cooperation projects.

Renewable Energies Conference

Linconshire LEADER+ in cooperation with Fens LeAP LEADER+ will be hosting a renewable energies event in November 2004 at the Horticultural research institute in Kirton, Linconshire. The event is aimed at horticulture and agriculture industry/business covering the fenland area. The event is planned to provide demonstrations and information on the scope of renewable energy options that are avail on market.

Fens Food and Flowers Festival of Events

Working in partnership with Fens Tourism and Linconshire LEADER+. Current discussions are being held between Fens tourism, Linconshire LEADER+ and Fens LeAP LEADER+ into a pipeline project to produce a publication covering the whole fens area listing community events linked to the theme 'Fens Food  and Flowers'. As part of the project Fens tourism will run a delegated grant scheme to support the costs of new or enhanced community led events.

Transnational Cooperation Projects:

Fens LeAP LEADER+ are currently cooperating on a joint project with Laois LEADER+ a LEADER+ programme based in the Republic of Ireland and Fenland District Council to produce an innovative e-magazine which will link young people living in the Fens and Laois. Part of the project will include a working party of young people travelling to Laois where they will produce a newsletter and work on creative arts projects with young people in the Laois LEADER+ area.
