LOCAL ACTION GROUP

The Local Action Group (LAG) is the executive decision making body of the Fens LeAP LEADER+ programme. The LAG’s duty is to oversee the programme, making sure it achieves all the principles and objectives that were laid down in the development plan. LAG members are made of people either living or working in Fens LeAP LEADER+ area. LAG members are also responsible for deciding which projects are eligible for LEADER+ funding and for monitoring the performance of all approved projects.

If YOU would like to be part of the LAG and therefore involved in shaping the future of the Cambridgeshire and West Norfolk Fenlands then please contact the programme team for more information. Below is a list of the criteria for a LAG member:

  • Ability to attend a LAG meeting at least four times a year

  • A knowledge of your local area, in particular an understanding of your community’s development needs and an awareness of any other existing development initiatives that are operating in your community

  • To be an ambassador for the LEADER+ programme, promoting and encouraging local community groups to apply for funding from LEADER+.

If you are selected as a LAG member further training will be provided to assist you in your role if required.
